KAREN BROWN
​
Karen Brown is an innovative, award winning pharmacy owner, pharmacist and entrepreneur and the Managing Partner of TerryWhite Chemmart Arana Hills.  She is a member of the Advisory Boards for TerryWhite Chemmart, University of Queensland School of Pharmacy, Australasian College of Pharmacy and PSA Leadership.

Karen is first and foremost a pharmacist and pharmacy owner but overall an entrepreneur making the most of opportunities and combining her passions for pharmacy, sport, business and people. She is constantly challenging the status quo and takes great pride in coaching her teams to be the best they can be as individuals and as a business.

PROFESSOR GLENN JACOBSON

Professor Jacobson is Head of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University of Tasmania. He is an experienced pharmacologist and an international leader in the enantioselective pharmacokinetics of beta2-agonists used in asthma as well as applications of these drugs in sports doping.

He has led the development of the recently accredited new BPharm(Hons) fast track course at the University of Tasmania, as well as the roll out of this course to Launceston and Burnie campuses starting in 2023 to improve accessibility for students in regional communities to address workforce shortages across the sector.

​SIMON BLACKER

Simon Blacker is a community pharmacist and has been a pharmacy owner for over 20 years. After 10 years of leading the team at Orana Mall Pharmacy in Dubbo, Simon relocated to Canberra as the Managing Partner of Life Pharmacy Group, ACT.

In 2017, Simon was elected President of the Pharmacy Guild’s ACT Branch, a role in which he is passionate about seeking feedback from Guild members, providing a voice to their ideas and providing possible solutions to their challenges.

​Simon believes the community pharmacy network is ideally positioned to do more to assist patients with their health needs in new and innovative ways.

ASAD MEHMOOD 

Asad is an overseas trained pharmacist who completed his undergraduate in Lahore and then continued his studies in pharmacy and management through the University of Wollongong and is a research associate at UNSW.

​Asad registered in Australia as a practising pharmacist and works in community pharmacy as well as educative roles with the Australian Pharmacy Council and PGA Qld.

Asad runs KAPs information sessions for OS trained pharmacists and most recently has been assisting the Guild with education content for OS trained pharmacist to better familiarise themselves with the context of community pharmacy in Australia.

​ Asad has some unique insights of the opportunities members have in offering internships to OS trained pharmacists with a view to permanent employment
